Blame It On the Moon

Some friends says it’s the moon that’s almost full that makes those water signs in the zodiac a bit in a rattling mode. And I am one of those people.

Oh well, they blame it on my diet, again. Sigh. Do we always need to find someone or something to blame at just for satisfaction?

They said I am “masungit” lately. Temper easily triggered. Eh how I can’t be, at times they are the ones triggering my temper. They tease me. Hay.

To lessen my sentiments and temper, I decided to watch a movie last night. Watched Simpsons the Movie alone. Bought baked potato and a biggie ice tea at Wendy’s after the movie for my dinner.

Simple satisfaction.

Tonight, I cooked shell pasta with lots of tuna sautéed in olive oil and lots of garlic. That’s my dinner tonight and a part of it is my baon tomorrow for lunch.

Sandman is here again. *yawn*

Sandman Revisits

I really noticed with this diet that I am sleepy. Just awhile ago in the church, I was stealing moments dozing. I like the chapel where we go to mass, the priest isn’t boring, but Mr. Sandman is really much powerful lately.

A friend of mine explains that my body compensates with the energy lost through my diet via sleeping. Particularly in the energy my body USED to take and consume.

I avoid coming home in the province at weekends. It’s a place of sin to be honest. Mainly for 2 reasons: one is I can’t work on my personal projects like my really, REALLY overdue book illustrations because, there’s cable and I really get hooked up easily on the tube. Second, my Nanay cooks. She knew about my diet and somehow supports it. Take note: I said SOMEHOW. I explained it to her what I am allowed to eat. And yet, she cooks it in a not so traditional way. Example, the dish sinigang. We all knew that’s it’s just a pork or fish dish with veggies and boiled with flavor. This time she prepares it by somehow frying the pork in it’s own oil and including that same oil in the boiling process. Sounds delicious definitely, but at this time I am not suppose to eat it.

Sigh.

I guess, weekends in Bulacan should really be marked as my cheating day. If not only my Tatay will be leaving at the end of the month I won’t be coming home for awhile.

The struggles in the path of self-esteem and good health…

Lost in (Entry) Translation

I have been jumping from one situation to another. The diet isn’t an obstruction except that I missed journaling it and wiggling at night :( Then a lightning seemed to struck me while I was washing dishes… I should change format in blogging my diet.

Actually, I have been doing the format that idea. It just came too technically detailed. From now on, well, starting tomorrow Sunday, I am to write something in effect, like situations, events or anything noticeable or reflection of my personality and the people around me due to my diet.

Much interesting than noting what I eat and plan to eat.

There.

Day 23 (Monday) Entry

I am partly happy with my weekend. I stayed at my place and did this studies for a personal client. I’ll email it later when I get to my seat in the office. And my neighbor-friends cooked dinner, it’s adobo and they placed boiled eggs! Yehey!

My neighbors are such nice and supportive people Ü

Bad thing is, my Wacom Intuos doesn’t respond to Biggie, the 15” Powerbook ☹ It was frustrating but I have to move on. Tried all means, but it just ate up almost half my day. It was really frustrating. So I resorted to an old way of illustrating digitally –– via mouse.

I feel it going to be a looooonnnng week again. The office called for a re-group. Nanay will have an operation tomorrow. She wanted me to come along.

Day 23 Food Prep: 3 Eggs, JellyAces, pretzels, Chocolait, crackers and 2 wheat bread.

It sound a lot but the leftover will be my baon on Tuesday.

Breakfast: Nesvita and lots of water.

Day 19 Recap and Day 20-21 Entries

Friday wasn’t the nicest day even. Well, we didn’t get any explanation why we didn’t get our salary. I think it’s the check again. Oh well… I’m used to it. My neighbor has always been good to me and invited me for dinner. They had gourdon bleu… even if it’s chicken, it’s fried. They knew it isn’t allowed in my diet so they made boiled potato, boiled egg and some greens with vignigrette…

Yey! God is still good for blessing me such good neighbor-friends.

Boiled potato is good, with Chiz Wiz or perhaps even with salt and pepper. Hmmm… another meal idea. But I can’t store potato with a refrigarator! Unless I want to grow it with roots… hahaha. Oh well, I’ll find a way.

Slept by 930pm. I was awaken by a missed call and an SMS message from our client. Invitation for a night cap just across my place. Tempting… free booze or something… BUT I really am quite disappointed with him and the rest of his minions PLUS I am sleepy, I’d rather go with Mr. Sandman instead.

Peace and quiet.

I didn’t go home to Bulacan this weekend. So happen, my “Ates” contacted me and we’ll have a sort of get-together in late afternoon of Saturday. We went and met up in Robinson’s Manila. Ok, ok.. I felt I did a little cheating… here’s what I had:

Tofu Sisig – forgivable
Pork ear and liver Sisig – questionable
Sago and Gulaman – ek!
Sinigang na Bangus in Guava (ate the bangus belly and veggies) – passed
Ginataang Sigarillas – veggies, passed
Son of Dutch (milk tea with vanilla ice cream and dutch chocolate syrup) – ek!

As my self-punishment, I did not eat any sinful meal on Sunday. Back to my diet…

Day 18 Recap and Day 19 Entry

I notice I get hungry immediately when I don’t take eggs and bread/crackers for breakfast. Good thing I have a pack of Gummi Bears which I have to share by the way, aside from my Chocolait and/or JellyAces to the kids of my boss-friend.

I should always have spare. I always forget that. Or as Jose told me, put my name on the food so they won’t think it’s theirs. Hmmm…. I’m not quite comfortable with that ☹

I only have a handful of baon since I came from Bulacan.

I forgot to mention that a few days back. The ad for this product that I’ve been cracking my head with and been bothering my friends was somehow accepted by the client. I guess we just have to polish it…

Yey!

Friday… the 13th… oh well…

Day 19 Food prep: 2 Eggs, JellyAces, crackers, canned pineapple juice.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and lots of water.

Day 17 Recap and Day 18 Entry

The tuna for lunch was a little twist and different from the usual routine of eggs and crackers/wheat. May be I’ll think of some more twist with tuna.

Nothing unusual. Except that I really get sleepy earlier than expected. I missed wiggling again… sorry! My loss anyway. But some pants of mine are a little loose. Yey! But still, I have those love handles! Hay!

I am lazy in going to work. I was announced that starting next week we will be time based… like 9am-6pm. Well, before I was told that it’s via delivery based work… oh well… change is the constant thing in this world anyway. What’s new!?

I am going home to Bulacan to bring home some papers, do a little errand and to let my parents know I’m not coming home this weekend.

Day 18 Food prep: 2 eggs (1 is for emergency), JellyAces, Gummi Bears, Chocolait and crackers.

Breakfast: Nesvita and lots of water

Day 16 Recap and Day 17 Entry

Diet nazi, Faye confirmed that I can have pasta and my neighbor gave my a sauce made from chicken breast, tomato, mushroom, some herbs cooked in olive oil. The other night when it was confirmed, my neighbor friends made a linguine pasta with Italian sausage cooked in olive oil Ü

I am tired in spite that I didn’t do much physical work. I missed wiggling because I fell asleep and didn’t wake up from the alarm clock.

Sigh.

It rained hard on my way home and managed to keep dry despite that fact that I have to transfer from one jeep transit to another. I was dry until this moron driving a black car speeds up… SPLASH!

I wished he get stuck in a traffic jam for 6 hours! The bastard!

ARGH!

Day 17 food prep: 1 can of Tuna sautéed in veggie oil, 3 slices of wheat bread and pineapple juice. And some emergency food: 5 Fita biscuits, Nesvita, JellyAces and Chiz Whiz.

Breakfast: poached egg, 1 slice of wheat bread and loads of water

Day 15 Recap and Day 16 Entry

Not a good start of the week. I wasn’t able to bring a complete lunch and guess what the office had for lunch? They ordered pizza and pasta from Yellow Cab because the client had a semi-surprise and semi-announced visit.

Temptation.

I may acted like a bitch or rude to them but I had to save myself. Why? Because such people don’t support my decision and way of dieting. I feel mocked. So why bother join for the sake of “pakikisama” or because they are clients? I’m sorry… sacrificing too much for them. ARGH.

And then they tell me to just eat the crust?

Eat the crust? Hello?!?

Learned my lesson: I may lose money but I will never ever depend on anyone my food to take for my diet.

They say I am changing: becoming oddly quiet, then at a moment I am a bee-atch. No one has seen me explode and pray that they won’t because I do remind myself that hmmm… that they are to blame it on my diet.

The only good news I got today is from my diet nazi, Faye. She said I can have pasta as long as it’s just one serving and no creamy sauces.

Yehey.

Day 16 food prep: Egg, crackers, yoghurt drink, JellyAce and gummi bears.

Breakfast: Egg with cheese spread, 2 slices of wheat bread and lots of water.

Day 12 Recap, Weekend and Day 15 Entry

Had fun with the videoke girls by singing out loud. But prior to that they decided to eat in a pizza parlor. Thank God there was soup and I get to eat some shrimps from their pasta.

Weekend was a sort of cheat day for me. It’s unavoidable to eat nilagang baka ‘cause for sure my Nanay will feel bad. But though It’s a cheat day when I go home, I still haven’t eaten rice… yehey!

Diet Nazi, Faye told me to add another 10 more minutes wiggling. And really try not to skip doing it :(

Monday again, Day 15 food prep: Crackers, JellyAces, yoghurt drink and cheese spread.

Day 11 Recap and Day 12 Entry

The day wasn’t as perfect as it was. I woke up a little low and just wanted to disappear or least just stay in bed. Among my colleagues, the latest member of the band was the only one who reacted and asked if I’m ok.

Oh well, to cut the entry short. The day ended well. I think I closed a monthly retainer deal.

Yey!

So today, I hope it will be different. My videoke friends planned a get-together later. I will skip the dinner part to avoid temptations and proceed to the “crying” part.

Can’t wait for the clock to strike 6pm.

Day 12 food prep: Egg, 2 packs of crackers, JellyAces, Dutchmill yoghurt drink and some diet biscuit sticks brought home by Nanay.

For breakfast I had egg with cheese spread on 5 Fita biscuits… and lots of water.

O-oh. My throat is itchy.

Eik!

Day 10 Recap and Day 11 Entry

I am really getting the hang of it… the diet I mean. I wish I am too with the other factors as well… but hell, I am not.

All seemed supportive of it. They seem to comply on what I could eat. They were just challenging me… that I have to remind myself.

My very good neighbors are the ones who are very supportive. We always have dinner together and since I am on a diet, we seldom hangout together at night. But tonight, they prepared Tom Yum, some Thai version of soup with a very sour-spicy based with mushrooms and shrimps.

YUM!

I really notice with this diet. I get sleepy easily.

Day 11 food prep: Egg, crackers, JellyAce, Nesvita and Dutchmill Yoghurt drink

Day 9 Recap and Day 10 Entry

The seminar today in Shangri-La was quite a temptation to my part. As expected, there was a free meal given after it and the food… really looks yummy. But all of it was not part of my food list.

I had to get out of there and really stay OUT of the room. Told my colleagues that I’ll be waiting for them outside.

I may be such a kill joy for them… I don’t know. But sorry, I had to stick with my regimen.

It seemed that the team understood (finally) my diet regimen and in fact supports (and challenges) me. My boss-friend treated the team out for a snack-dinner in a Japanese restaurant in Greenbelt 3 named HAIKU. I texted Faye, my diet nazi if it was ok for me to take sashimi. She said it was a good source of real protein!

Yehey!

Had tuna and salmon sashimi and lots of water. Though ice tea is allowed and green (bottomless) ice tea is served, I try to stay away with it. As far as I know it contains more sugar content than regular soda.

Jose came in and joined the group. And we hanged out in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf after dinner for some chit-chat. I had a good cup of hot Chai tea.

Got home in my place quite late. I missed out my wiggling time. My loss again ☹

Day 10 food prep: Egg, crackers, JellyAce and Chocolait

I never take down my breakfast… ok, from now on will do. I took, 1 egg with lots of pepper, 3 Fita biscuits and 1 cut of Nesvita-like but it’s Quaker branded

Tuesday, July 3, 2007

Day 8 Recap and Day 9 Entry

I had a confirmation from my diet nazi that I can eat peanuts as long as it’s greaseless and peanut butter but just one tablespoon Ü

Yehey!

I notice that I get sleepy really quickly. I was down by 930PM and still got up by 6am this morning. I missed doing my personal projects. EIK!

Oh well… have to battle with that… sleepy demon!

Day 9 food prep: 2 eggs, JellyAce, crackers, gummi bears and cheese spread.

Weekend (Day 6 and 7) and Day 8 Entry

I went home this weekend and it was temptation paradise… waaaahhhh…

Knowing my mom, she doesn’t understand what “dieting” means. As long as she cooked, you have to eat it. I have to explain to my Ate Perla what are “bawal” to me.

Thank God, I managed to avoid rice and they have leftovers of sautéed veggies.

I nabbed all the gummi bears and single packed flavored oatmeals my mom brought from her US trip.

I escaped the “prisoned paradise” Sunday afternoon. I decided to buy some groceries based from my diet. Unfortunately, no wheat bread. Sigh. I had to look for it later or I’ll stick with crackers, eggs and chiz wiz. But I manage to find some single serving soup. Since I have a pot and stove in my place, I think that should be a good substitute for dinner.

Honestly, I am trying to lessen the intakes the food listed in my diet. Specially if I’m not hungry. Because honestly, water makes me bloated. Well, we’ll see if it will benefit me. I’m still glad my brain still works. Hahaha.

Oh, there’s one thing I notice… I am sleepy. Yup. And my sleep is deep and satisfying or well-rested, I guess.

Day 8: Eggs, crackers, JellyAce, Chocolait and Yoghurt drink.

Day 4 Recap and Day 5 Entry

I think I’m getting the hang of the diet. Hopefully, I can manage it till the end of it. Umm… which I am not quite sure up until when is the 1st phase. Oh well, I trust my diet nazi, Faye!

I had fries (again) for dinner. And lots of water. And I was a bit agitated by some situation that I decided by impulse to get out of the office and head for the nicest and nearest cinema I can think of (which is Gateway, with lots of objections) and decided to watch "Transformers" on it’s first showing day.

And it’s all worth it Ü

Day 5 food prep: Crackers, Nesvita and JellyAces. I was bitten by the lazy bug to think and prepare my food I guess.

Day 3 Recap and Day 4 Entry

I managed to drag myself off to work yesterday. I was late than usual and received a SMS from our AE when I was just a few feet away. Oh well…

No yoghurt in the grocery near the office, even in 7-11. Weird. Bought yoghurt drink instead.

I don’t feel anything weird so far. Morning ritual is the same though it’s easier than before… or let’s say effortless.

I got to wiggle last night. I created a mix of dance tunes including Kylie Minogue of course. I perspired like a waterfalls and despite the stickiness of my skin, by 930pm I am snoozing!!!

It was on of the best sleep I’d ever had. With that, I don’t have any trouble dragging myself out of bed in the morning…

Yey!

Day 4 food prep: got 2 eggs, 2 packs of BluSkies, 10 Fita biscuits, 8 JellyAces, 1 Nesvita and 1 small pack of gummi bears.

All these for mix and matching in my meals later.

I just took Nesvita and about 250ml of water for breakfast but I feel bloated.

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

Day 2 Recap and Day 3 Entry

I kept on farting and burping. That’s what I notice as I report to my diet nazi, Faye.

Meetings seemed to last longer today. No breaks. ARGH. But in front of them, I don’t care whether I may look bad, but I had to take something. Took out my gummi bears popped some in my mouth. Some asked for it too.

“Mga gutom din pala, hmp!” (they are hungry as well), told myself.

After that looooong meeting I had to run to another personal meeting in McDonald’s. Thank God, fries is allowed. Had that for dinner.

I wiggled for almost an hour. I think it was more tiring because I can from a meeting and had a smoke. I am pissed and I don’t know if I am depressed or angry at certain situation.

Right now, I wish I can just place myself in room, stay there for the looooongest time and come out really, really thin.

Day 3 food prep: Realized I ran out of eggs and chocolate drink. Will pass by the grocery… if I finally drag myself out of my house.

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Day 1 Recap and Day 2 Entry

Day 2: June 26, 2007

Had breakfast. My diet nazi said I can mix and match things in the menu. As long as I stay away from rice, anything fried, red and processed meat, junkfoods and sweet.

Fair enough.

But Yesterday, my first day of diet, our client called for a dinner- get together. Ok. I admittedly panicked. Thanks to Faye, my diet nazi, she instructed and reminded me what not to eat. The dinner was in Shanghai Bistro in Eastwood. My colleague said food there is really good.

Well, to cut the story short. They all seemed to “challenge” me that I won’t last for 2 weeks. One colleague was placing a bet. But he didn’t finalize it. Too bad, I’m surely going to win.

As I told, Faye, some people just seemed to mock or make fun of my decision of taking the diet (finally). Example: Client asked what are the things I am NOT allowed to eat. Yet mostly they ordered mostly most fried before then added some sauce with it. The client “served” me a cupful of Yang Chow Rice.

Good thing there was Century Egg, shrimp dumpling and sautéed shrimp with bachoy veggies.

Anyway, I really feel bad about it. But perhaps I should see it as a challenge. As Faye said it, we shouldn’t give in. They will drool on us once they see the results come my birthday.

Ok for Day 2… I prepared my meals. Unfortunately, today is Tuesday, it’s mostly meetings. I just wish I will survive.

I missed wiggling last night. I have to make it up tonight.

The Start

Day 1: June 25, 2007

Today is my first day to do the unique diet that Faye created just for me. Half an hour ago, I just eat:
• 2 slices of wheat bread
• 1 boiled egg
• 4 small pieces of Jelly Ace
• water

I was a little scared at first that it might not be enough but surprisingly, I am full. Really.

Now, I prepare for work, commute and buy the other food for my next meal at 10AM.
